Overview
This trip begins in Tokyo, where guided city walks and food experiences move between the lively lanes of Tsukiji Outer Market, the historic streets of Asakusa, and the forested calm of Meiji Jingu. From there, two standout day trips round out the Tokyo leg: the sacred mountain scenery of Nikkō, with its ornate shrines and dramatic waterfalls, and the postcard views around Mount Fuji, with lakeside panoramas and countryside villages.
The journey continues by rail to Kyoto, Japan's cultural heart, for lantern-lit evenings in Gion and temple-filled days, plus a day trip to Nara for its iconic shrines and the monumental Tōdai-ji Great Buddha. From there it's on to Osaka for a livelier, food-forward stretch through retro neighborhoods and market culture. The trip closes in Hiroshima, pairing the moving Peace Memorial Park and Museum with the coastal beauty of Miyajima Island and its "floating" torii gate at Itsukushima Shrine.
Hotel accommodations (double occupancy), bullet train tickets between cities, select meals, private tour guides, airport transfers, private bus transport for the Nikkō, Nara, and Kyoto day tours, and entrance fees are included. International airfare, visa fees, personal expenses, and travel insurance are not included.
