Overview

This trip takes travelers into the heart of the Himalayas on a classic Everest Base Camp trek with McLellan Adventure Travel. Round-trip flights between Kathmandu and Lukla are included to reduce the risk of weather delays, bookending the adventure on both ends. The journey opens in Kathmandu with an arrival transfer, orientation, and welcome dinner, then heads into the mountains along the legendary Khumbu route.

From Lukla, the trek passes through Phakding, Namche Bazaar (with a built-in acclimatization day), Tengboche and its monastery, Dingboche (with another acclimatization day), and Lobuche before reaching Everest Base Camp itself. From there, a sunrise hike up Kala Patthar delivers sweeping Himalayan panoramas before the descent back through the Khumbu Valley to Lukla and a flight back to Kathmandu. The trip closes with a full day of Kathmandu sightseeing, taking in UNESCO World Heritage sites like Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Durbar Square, capped with a farewell dinner.

Travelers can add an optional India Extension, flying through Delhi on the way to Nepal (with a night at a 5-star hotel before continuing to Kathmandu) and returning to explore Delhi and Agra afterward, including a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and other landmarks. Accommodations (double occupancy), noted meals, guides, porters, permit and museum fees, and Kathmandu–Lukla flights are included in the core trip; personal equipment, travel insurance (required), gratuity, international airfare, and personal expenses are not included. The India Extension is priced and booked separately, with its own inclusions covering Delhi/Agra hotels, transfers, select meals, guides, entrance fees, and the Delhi–Kathmandu round-trip flight — though international airfare to and from Delhi is not included.
